WEEK 4 : MONDAY 01/07/2024 TO FRIDAY 05/07/2024

                       INTRODUCTION
This week the teaching practice was from 01/07/2024 to 05/07/2024

01/07/2024
MONDAY

Today as usual reach the school at 9:15 a.m. First period I have substitution for class 5 C there I took the attendance and collect their Bus fees, ID card fees and taught them food chain .Students are very active during the period .I give them some names on plants and animals and ask them to write down maximum number of food chains.The third period I  got an substitution for 9B which is my concerned class I taught them the topic exchange of materials through plasma membrane.I took the topic in inquiry training model. After the lunch break there was a inauguration of social science club at 1:30 p.m. at mini auditorium all the members of the club and social science teachers participated in the function.Head mistress Suja teacher inaugurated the function I have also participated in the meeting.Last period I got substitution for 8B .The school dispersed at 3.30pm.

02/07/2024
TUESDAY 

As usual reached  school at 9:15 a.m. after the prayer we went to our given staffroom today I have two period for 9b the third period and 6th period the third period I collected the data of my project based on attitude towards personal hygiene  practices and the personal hygiene product purchasing behaviour among secondary school students. The sixth period I conducted atest on the first unit of biology the test conducted on 20 marks all students written the examination.There is no extra curricular activities in this day the school dispersed at the 3:30 p.m.

WEDNESDAY 
As usual reched the school at 9:15 a.m. after the prayer I have observation from my concerned option Miss Sreedevi ma'am and general miss Revathi maam.Both the teachers came at 10:00 a.m. my concerned miss checked my teaching manual and a reflective journal. Meanwhile I prepared for the class I taken the class during the second period I taught the topic structure of animal cell from the unit life mysteries in little chambers of standard 8. The overall experience was good. There was science club inauguration function at 1:30 p.m. we all science teaching trainees  attended the function .During the sixth period I conducted a diagnostic test for class 8 which is my concerned class. The diagnostic test conducted from the unit life mysteries in little chambers  from basic science. Students attended the exam with the great importance .The school dispersed at 3.30pm.

Lesson template 
Clear classroom interaction procedure. prerequisites well noted. All components were noted.
Set induction
Positive : Checked previous knowledge.Aroused curiosity of students, created conducive  atmosphere.Teacher was pleasant and made ready the students.
Development of lesson 
Positives:  Scaffolding noted.Individual attention is given.Teacher movement is seen.  voice good modulation is noted well. systematic and meaningful thought provoking questions are used to drive forward the lesson.Considered the difficulties in learning of different students .Reinforcement where given frequently .Multi level questions where asked. Presentation good. Pleasant and confident.
Negatives: concentrated on saree touching try to avoid it. slide on the wall and chart was conflict in class. instruction should be specific when you put hint slide.
Learning experience 
Positives: age appropriate, varied, purposeful relevant, child friendly, participatory.
Negatives: could be used ICT to show lysosome and Centrosome parts to make more understandable. 

Learner involvement 
Positive: self construction of knowledge is encouraged, initiative and autonomy is given importance .good Rappot maintenance.
Audio visual aids
Positives:Blackboard used at the time of necessity only .Activity used to was good used to well.
Negatives :charts not neat ,less legible overcrowded ,the diagram was size reduced try no to allow ICT shade to flash on chart displayed .blackboard could be used to introduced new terms the centrosome and lysosome. Poems in chart should be not at one below the other in chart .orange colour is not seen well for last benchers.
Content mastery
Positives: relevant there was supplementary and content knowledge delivered as per objectives.
 Negative: Be sure about dealing with students doubt.
Class management 
Know the names of all students. stops mis conduct.have eyecontact .scaffolding used, learners were self disciplined.
Closure of the lesson 
Done well with all learning aids namely ICT concluded all and summarised all parts revised well.
Assessment and evaluation 
Formative assessment is seen throughout the lesson as per prefixed objectives, used well Negative: some responses were not repeated by teacher.

Main reflection noted by the teacher 
Positives
Good classroom interaction procedure. prerequisites noted well check previous knowledge, interest and curiosity of students, scaffolding is given, individual attention is given. Voice modulation is good. systematic and meaningful classroom interaction procedure , self construction of knowledge, knows all name of the students, recognise the all levels of learners, age appropriate, child friendly ,participatory,activity used  was good and effective, formative assessment is given throughout the lesson
Negatives:
Be sure about dealing with students doubt saree touching was seen, conflict between charts and slides are seen, chats needs to be more neat and legible, writings on charts using proper colour should be noted.

THURSDAY
This day there was no regular class for the school because of educational strike 
05/07/2024
FRIDAY 
Today as usual reach other school at 9:15. a.m.Today school conducted a special assembly on ബഷീർ അനുസ്മരണം.The assembly was fulfilled with life and basheer journey.students presents the main characters of story പാത്തുമേടെ ആട്.Basheer's biography his contributions also presented in the assembly.Then the third and The fourth period I have got substitution for my concerned class 8th where I taught them the topic cell and tissues and cell differentiation respectively. After the lunch there was PTAmeeting for the school. So the school dispersed at noon.

CURRICULAR AND CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

In this week the students of 8th standard were taught using of teaching manual from their first chapter from part 1 of their basic science textbook namely LIFE'S MYSTERIES IN LITTLE CHAMBER. 8th standard students were taught.
1.STRUCTURE OF ANIMAL CELL
2CELLS AND TISSUES
3.CELL  DIFFERENTIATION 
In this week the students of 9th standard where taught using of teaching manual from their Biology textbook from the first unit TO LIFE PROCESS . The 9th standard students where taught
1. EXCHANGE OF MATERIALS THROUGH PLASMA MEMBRANE

Teaching aids such as charts, activity cards,ICT were used appropriately based on the topic taught.
The reflective journals were also done this week.

OVERALL REFLECTION OF CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE

Students of 8th and 9th standard were given teaching manual oriented activity based classroom experience. Three teaching manual of 8th standard and one teaching manual of 9th standard were completed effectively. Learning aids such charts, ICT slides, cut outs video presentations are prepared as per the need of topic. Students were given followup activities like assignment and short note in science diary ,activities of group discussion. Students are actively participated in the classroom interaction procedure, intellectual curiosity of the children are aroused. Prerequisites were correctly checked. Create a good rappot with the students and accommodate all levels of learners in my class.Aravind sir physical education observation also held on this week.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES 

The school conducted good extra curricular activities in the school.This week there was lot of extra curricular activities carried on.A good science club  and social science club was inaugurated during this week.Friday the morning session school conducted a special assembly on ബഷീർ അനുസ്മരണം and afternoon session there was a PTA MEETING  for all the parents and teachers of the school.The most important thing I observed in this week is our HM Suja teacher gives equal importance in curricular as well as extra curricular activities in equal importance.
