FIELD TRIP TO VAGAMON

On 16th December 2022 we,first batch BEd students in sabarigiri college scheduled a field trip to vagamon. The main objectives of the field grip was to study the importance of field trip as an excellent method and supplement to provide first hand experiences and meaningful teaching and learning outside the school to the community. We started our trip at sharp 5.12am from the college with 53 students and 8 teachers including our principal Dr.Meera raj mam. We had our breakfast from mundakkayam at 8.30am.Then we reached valanjakanam water falls at 10.08 and enjoyed the beauty of nature for some time.Then we reached the pine forest at 11.15am.After site seeing we had our lunch at 12.45 pm.At 2.00pm we went to mottakkunnu for boating and site seeing.Then we reached suicide point at 3.45pm.At 6 15 we reached our final destination parunthanpara.The visuals was mind blowing and relaxing.After tea we say good bye to vagamon.At 9.00pm we had our dinner from mundakkayam.Around 1.00am we reached college. This study tour was a great experience to teacher trainees to develop and stimulate interest towards nature and learning through successfull utilisation of community resources correlating the education with outside world.

One of the key activities of the NSS is the annual NSS camp, which brings students participate in community development activities.        As our BEd college is the first BEd college started NSS unit under Kerala university. A seven day camp along with five days community camp was decided to conduct from 14 December to20 December. The camp aimed to provide a platform for young people to engage in community service and social activities, while also promoting their personal and social development.              COMMUNITY LIVING CAMP The community living camp is learning to live together, sharing duties and responsibilities. Developing personal and social skills. Practising democratic living and managing events. Practising division of labour, dignity of labour, community work.         FIRST DAY 14 DECEMBER THURSDAY 2023 The first day of community living camp was started at 8:00am.The day was named as ജ്വാല  A well organised NSS volunteers are selected for the registration section. All the voluteers are registered and gathered at the genera hall by 9:30am. The official inauguration ceremony was started sharp at 9:30am. The programme started by NSS Song by all of the volunteers.
